About Dr. Fordyce

Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Dr. Jim Fordyce moved to Georgia in 2000 and has been part of the Northeast Georgia community for more than 20 years. His connection to Stephens County runs especially deep. His wife, Jennifer, has worked in the operating room at Stephens County Hospital for three decades, making the Fordyce family long-standing contributors to our local healthcare.

Dr. Fordyce's path to orthopedics was shaped early on. A college football injury once put his own athletic future at risk, but the care he received from an Orthopedic Surgeon allowed him to return to the field. It inspired a lifelong calling to help others regain mobility and independence. Today, he brings that same dedication and empathy to every patient his treats.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Fordyce enjoys staying active, spending time with family, and walking his dogs, Remi and Mr. Brown. He is the proud father of five—Amanda, Jimmy, Morgan, Kaysen, and Justin—and a grandfather to Adrian, Julian, and Oakley Mae.

Dr. Fordyce is now accepting patients on the Stephens County Hospital campus. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, please contact Stephens County Hospital Orthopedics at 706-282-5845.
