General Surgeon

We are seeking a General Surgeon to join our physician group and provide high-quality, comprehensive surgical care to patients in our hospital and the surrounding community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surgeon who enjoys a broad general surgery practice, meaningful patient relationships, and working in a collaborative hospital environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care and will be comfortable managing both elective and emergency surgical conditions.

Position Highlights

  • Broad scope of elective and emergency general surgery

  • Inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department surgical consultations

  • Participation in the hospital's General Surgery call schedule

  • Opportunity to build and grow a strong surgical practice within the community

  • Collaborative relationship with Emergency Medicine, anesthesia, nursing, primary care, radiology, and other hospital services

  • Opportunity to participate in quality improvement, medical staff activities, and other professional initiatives

Surgical Scope

The practice may include procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel and intestinal procedures, soft-tissue procedures, and other general surgical services consistent with the surgeon's training, experience, and hospital privileges.

The surgeon will also evaluate and manage urgent and emergent surgical conditions and coordinate transfer when a patient's needs exceed the services available locally.

Ideal Candidate

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency

  • Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery

  • Eligible for medical licensure in [State]

  • Current BLS certification

  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Comfortable practicing with a broad range of general surgical conditions

New graduates will be considered based on their training, clinical experience, and ability to meet the needs of the practice.
