Clinical Nurse Educator

CLINICAL EDUCATOR

Functions as member of the management and nursing team. Serves as a leader and role model. Responsible for nursing orientation for new employees and internal transfers. Provides educational programs and in-service to the employees, as well as consults, develops, plans, implements, and evaluates programs provided.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: 

  • Master's degree required.
  • 5+ years clinical nursing experience required.
  • Knowledge of CPSI prefered. 
  • Must have knowledge surrounding nursing equipment (IV pumps, SCD pumps, CBI, etc.)
  • Experience in Med/Surg, ED and/or Critical Care areas required. 

 

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current Georgia License as a Nurse.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental  attendance and punctuality guidelines
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
  • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational  programs)
  • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations of time.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. Non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.

* Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

* Have near normal hearing – able to hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice/webinars

* Have near normal vision – clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non-corrected, ability to distinguish colors

* Have good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination

* Standing – continuously within the shift (67-100%)

* Walking – continuously within the shift (67-100%)

* Climbing – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)

* Bending/stooping – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)

* Twist at the waist – occasionally with the shift (1-33%)

* Pushing/pulling 50+lbs without assistance – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
