Registered Nurse , Senior Behavioral Health Unit
Summary:
The Staff Nurse is responsible for direct and indirect nursing care and the directing of other nursing care providers.
Position:
Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing intervention, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
Identifies patient care problems and communicates them to treatment team.
Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care.
Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure.
Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards.
Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the RN position in the behavioral health unit specific to the scope of service.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Experience:
Some Med/Surg experience
Knowledge and skills related to the care of patients with behavoiral health diagnoses
Experience in Long Term Care and/or memory care facility acceptable
Experience working with addiction or subtance abuse is preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current RN Licensure registration in the state.of Georgia
CPR certification preferred
CPI certification and will receive new or refresher training at Unit Specific Orientation
