Resource Pool Registered Nurse - Full Time - 7pm-7am with call required.

 

Education / Experience:

Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years full time relevant experience in Med/Surg, ICU and ER

Must be proficient in at least two of the units listed above 

 

Licensure / Certification:

Graduate from an accredited RN/LPN program

Current Georgia RN/LPN license

Must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs in the role of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) while working on Med/Surg, ICU and/or the Emergency department.

 The following duties include but are not limited to:

* Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and families, provide emotional support to patients and families.

* Communicate with physician and other members of the healthcare team

* Administers and documents medication per hospital policy to include IV, PO, IM an SQ medications

*Documents all findings within the appropriate electronic health record

* Performs patient discharge teaching as needed.

* Performs treatments and procedures within scope of practice

* Assists/round with other healthcare providers as needed/requested

* Knowledge and skill to manage critical care drips (vasopressors, cardiac medications, sedation medications, etc.)

* Perform venipunctures and obtain blood samples as required depending upon the setting.

* Manage all types of lines – peripheral IV’s, central lines, PICC/midlines, etc.

* Assists with bedside procedures to include chest tubes, foley catheter insertions, sedation, wound care, etc.

* Able to perform all skills included in the RN/LPN job descriptions.

 

Scheduling Requirements

Must schedule a minimum of 72 hours per two-week pay period during the 6-week open schedule block.

* For part time, must schedule a minimum of 48 hours per two-week pay period during the 6-week open schedule block.

* Must schedule at least 4 weekend shifts during the 6-week open schedule block

* Must work at least ONE major holiday within the spring-summer season (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day)

* Must work at least ONE major holiday within the winter season (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day)

* Other non-hospital recognized holidays (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, etc.) will be scheduled based upon the needs of the units but participation in coverage for these holidays is expected.

 * Holidays may not be chosen by the employee but are schedule in collaboration with the unit managers based upon the coverage needs.

 * When the schedule opens, the RN/LPN must submit scheduling availability within two weeks. Any schedule input by the employee is subject to change due to the needs of the unit. Once the schedule is finalized and posted, any changes must be approved by the manager/designee.

* The Resource Nurse will be expected to potentially float from one unit to another during the shift as needed and directed to do so by the unit manager, nursing supervisor, and/or CNO. The Resource Nurse will be floated to another unit first.

*  Salary will be based upon the nurse’s experience and internal equity plus 20%. This position is benefit eligible and eligible for all associated differentials (shift, weekend, charge, etc.)
