Perioperative Team Leader - Full Time - Day Shift with call required 

Coordinates the efforts of the assigned staff.  Supervises clinical care provided by all staff members and directs and coordinates the patient flow as necessary.  Functions as a member of the management and nursing team. Serves as a leader and role model in the absence of the Nurse Manager and as a direct patient caregiver.

 

Education:

2 year/Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum requirement)

4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) 

2-3 years of experience in an acute care setting in area of specialty (required)

1-2 years of clinical leadership experience (preferred)

Licensure / Certification:

RN with current Georgia license or current compact/multistate license

BLS, ACLS (both required), PALS, (preferred) can be obtained within 6 months of hire

Department certifications may be required 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
  • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e. self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight and demonstrated needs.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate. Adheres to the hospital hand hygiene practices.
  • Participates in ongoing unit Quality/Process Improvement projects as directed by the Nurse Manager.
  • Assists with ongoing unit education and new employee orientation
  • Covers for the Nurse Manager when he/she attends meetings, for vacations, etc.

  • Have near normal hearing – able to hear alarms/telephone/ normal speaking voice/ webinars
  •  Have near normal vision – clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non-corrected, ability to distinguish colors
  • Have good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination
  •  Standing – continuously within the shift (67-100%)
  • Walking – continuously within the shift (67-100%)
  • Climbing – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
  • Bending/stooping – frequently within the shift (34-66%)
  • Twist at the waist – occasionally with the shift (1-33%)
  • Pushing/pulling – frequently within the shift (34-66%)
  • Lift/carry – 20lbs with assistance – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
  • Reaching above the shoulders – frequently within the shift (34-67%)
  • Lift/carry – 50lbs with assistance – occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
