The Kitchen Aide is responsible for serving food, resident tray assembly, and preparation of basic food items, routine cleaning and maintenance duties in the kitchen.

Education:
Ability to read and write.
Experience:
Previous food service experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sets up resident tray line with cold foods and condiments.
- Prepares coffee and tea for tray line and cafeteria.
- Works on tray line in Starter or Runner positions.
- Prepares resident late trays.
- Prepares and labels all between meal nourishments.
- Assists with food preparation as needed.
- Delivers beverages to unit refrigerators daily; replenishes floor stock.
- Delivers resident meal carts; returns carts to kitchen after meals.
- Delivers nourishments to resident area.
- Assists with stocking of food supplies as needed.
- Records refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily.
- Records cleaning date of ice bins per schedule.
- Dismantles, washes, sanitizes and stores all trays, flatware, glasses and dishes.
- Cleans, sanitizes and stores all pots, pans, serving utensils, can openers and ice scoops.
- Cleans dish machine after each meal.
- Sets up trays with tray covers, utensils and napkins.
- Cleans dishroom each week.
- Cleans with germicidal solution and polishes all stainless steel surfaces including equipment, sinks, counters, shelves, refrigerators, freezer doors and water cooler.
- Keeps storage areas neat and clean with all food covered, labeled and dated. Storage areas are to be thoroughly cleaned weekly.
- Cleans food carts after each meal with a germicidal solution by the scraper; cleans all food carts thoroughly each week.
- Sweeps the floors and mops with a germicidal solution daily.
- Cleans all lowerators, hand carts and dish racks.
- Removes trash and garbage from the kitchen area at the end of each shift and ties each bag securely.
- Assists with routine and special cleaning.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
- May need to stand or sit for up to 2-6 hours at a time
- Physically demanding, high-stress environment
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds or more
