Centralized Scheduler:
Full Time - Monday - Friday - Day Shift
The Centralized Scheduler is responsible for scheduling appointments for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. The Scheduler is also responsible for ensuring that patient demographics are accurately entered into the computer system, verifies patient benefits and eligibility, obtaining pre-certification approvals from insurance companies, determining patient responsibility and completing the pre-registration process.
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent Preferred
Licensure / Certification:
Experience with related utilization review activity required.
Knowledge of insurance and third party payer practices required.
Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service while scheduling, obtaining complete and accurate patient demographic information, identifying patient benefits and eligibility, obtaining pre-certification approvals from insurance companies and Physicians’ offices, identifying insurance and/or patient responsibility, collecting identified co-pay/co-insurance/deductible and completing the pre-registration process.
- Responsible for identifying available times for scheduled procedures; ensures prompt scheduling to meet the convenience of patients, however, allows adequate time to complete insurance verification and authorization process as efficiently as possible without compromising the procedures.
- This data is including, but not limited to, correct procedures/codes, diagnosis codes, and patient insurance information.
- Provides patient with any pre-appointment instructions.
- Ability to organize, perform and track multiple tasks accurately in short time frames, have ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple demands, ability to work both
- Independently and collaboratively as a team player and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment with regular interruptions.
- Additional skills required include typing, experience using computerized documentation systems, and problem solving.
- Prepares reports as needed and accepts other responsibilities as directed.

- Cross Train, cover in other Registration areas as needed and directed by Supervisor/Manager
