April 5, 2020 Hospital COVID Update

On Friday, April 3, 2020, staff at the Clary Care Center was working to arrange the transfer of one of its residents to another facility. The individual was in good health, but the receiving facility required that any incoming individual be tested for COVID-19. This individual, who was and remains asymptomatic, returned a positive COVID-19 test result. We immediately isolated this individual, notified the Department of Public Health (DPH), and have informed all the families of all residents in the facility. This case has been thoroughly investigated by our infection prevention team in collaboration with the DPH. The DPH has reported that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff and we are continuing to monitor this individual under isolation. The safety of our residents is our top priority and we want to reassure the public that we are expending every resource available to ensure that safety. We will release more information as soon as it becomes available.
