Full Time Painter/Mason Position - Monday-Friday - 1st shift 7am - 3:30pm with call required.

The Painter/Mason is a specially trained individual who performs preventative maintenance and repairs of the building, grounds, utilities and equipment throughout the facility.  Also, the Painter/Mason is an individual who performs painting and assists in maintaining appearance throughout the facility.

Experience:

Experience in hospital or industrial maintenance preferred.

Education:

Vocational training in industrial maintenance or related fields preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates job with appropriate manager to ensure that safe environment is maintained.
  • Ensures that areas being painted are properly prepped prior to finishes being applied.
  • Applies paints, varnishes or stains as requested.
  • Cleans area thoroughly once project is completed.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order.
  • Stores equipment and supplies according to established policies.
  • Keeps manager informed of needed equipment and supplies.
  • Reports potential problem areas to appropriate personnel.
  • Performs PM’s no later than the 25th of the month or as scheduled.
  • Records results accurately on PM card and forwards to the Engineering Office.
  • Follows-up on Work Orders generated from PM failures.
  • Responds promptly to urgent requests and is able to prioritize Work Orders.
  • Seeks assistance and/or learning experience to increase knowledge base/productivity.
  • Reports potential problem areas to appropriate personnel.
  • Makes immediate repairs on essential equipment.
  • Troubleshoots electrical problems using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Installs, repairs, and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures.

  • Ability to compile, code and categorize, or verify information/data
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situation
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.

  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services as needed.

Preferred or Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiar with safety programs in a hospital environment
  • Experience following protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate within a team environment.
  • Ability to train and retrieve technical information in a fast paced environment.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

  • May need to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in a non climate controlled environment.
