Advance Directives

It is the policy of Stephens County Hospital to honor an adult patient’s right to consent, refuse or alter treatment plans. Should an adult patient become incapacitated, Advance Directives such as Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care would govern the patient’s desires. While an Advance Directive is not required for treatment, in the absence of such, usual policies and procedures will be followed. Information on Advance Directives is distributed to you on admission. Members of the Social Services Department are available to discuss this if you request. You can call 706.282.4148 for additional information.
