Diabetes Education

The Outpatient Diabetes Class is an essential educational tool for any individual wanting to learn more about diabetes and diabetes self-management. The goal of the program is to improve the health of diabetics and assist care takers in understanding the disease through education. Class topics include: basics of diabetes, long-term and short-term complications, exercise and nutrition and the importance of medications. This 4.5 hour class does not include insulin administration instruction. For individualized education for insulin administration or glucometer instruction, please contact Sherry Gragg at 706.282.4175 to schedule an appointment time.

Class participation is free and does not require a physician’s order, however pre-registration is required.

Classes are held every 3rd Wednesday of the Month from 12:15 – 5:00 PM.
