NOVEMBER 23, 2005 – Toccoa, Georgia – Soon the patients and visitors of Stephens County Hospital will be able to enjoy the talent of award-winning local artist Joe Collins. Displayed during the annual Toccoa Harvest Festival, the canvas that is now in the possession of Hospital Administrator Ed Gambrell depicts the architecture of the hospital’s front entrance and grounds.
“We very much appreciate Joe’s contribution to the
community and this beautiful work of art,” said Gambrell.
Mr. Collins retired from Coats & Clark in March of 2001 after 38 years of service and is gifted both musically and artistically. “Joe is a very modest, extremely talented man who is committed to his family, community and the arts community. He is very generous of his time and talents,” said Beth Zoffman of the Currahee Arts Guild. “ “I’m not sure there are words to describe a man like Joe who has such an attitude of service”.
