Hospital Authority Scheduled To Elect Three Posts Tonight

The Stephens County Hospital Authority will have at least one new member after today.

The Hospital Authority is scheduled to meet later today for its regular monthly meeting. At that meeting, the Hospital Authority is expected to vote on three Authority posts that are up for re-election.

At least one of those will result in a new Authority member. Former Authority Chairman Ferman Gregory retired effective this month and his replacement will be voted on.

The nominees for that post are George Sanders, Henry Fields, and Dr. Kevin Vanderhoef.

Meanwhile, authority members Paula Dickerson and Hank Hayes are also up for re-appointment. Three people are nominated for each post by the county commission, with the Hospital Authority granted the power to select the authority member.

Nominated along with Dickerson are Ferrell Morgan and Clay Fisher. Nominated along with Hayes are John West and Roger Sheppard.

The terms are six years in length.

Meanwhile, the Hospital Authority will vote for officers in October.
